Have you tried forcing the program into DOS mode?  Find
the IndyCar icon, right click the mouse on it, and
select properties from the menu.  Click on the 'Program'
tab, and then the 'Advanced...' button.  Check the 'MS-DOS mode'
box.  I know I've gotten Indycar to work under W95,
but I don't remember how well.  If I were you, my own
personal solution to this problem would be 'wait 2 weeks, buy
IndyCar II'.  That's what I intend to do.

Yes, I have.  And Indycar still won't even give me a title page.

No can do.  I'm in a racing league that uses Indycar now and I can't
wait.  Besides the latest incarnation of Indycar lacks one thing that is
vital: being able to save the race or lacking that, saving the race weekend.
Without that feature, it's a waste of time for me.

Stones...until they sold out)

I don't mean to post information that might have already been
covered but haere it goes. My computer has 8megs and my disk is
compressed. Windows 95 lowered my availible mem from 649k to 525k.
Instead of running Nascar from windows I also run it from Dos, but
from the "shut down" menu select "restart computer". When the
computer reboots and you see "Starting Windows 95" push the F8
button, this will give you 6 options. One of them gives you the
option of going through your config.sys and autoexec.bat and adding
or deleting start up files so that you can have more availible mem
for Dos, I personally don't know which to add or delete on my
system. I use option 5 which will bypass some start up files
and give you the command prompt only, this option gave me an
additional 80k for running Nascar. Hope this helps.

i rumn both indycar and nascar with win95, but i made a new boot disk
and run it from there.  i used the files created when i made the win95
boot disk and added the batch files i used on my old boot disk ( i
have all my dos games there domm and the likes..with a selection batch
file to start them  up)  it works great!

there is an easier way to do this.  right click on the desktop, and select
make a shortcut.  then you can select to run this shortcut in dos mode, and
if you go into the advanced screen, you can type in specific autoexec and
config files to use *only* during that shortcut session !!  then when you
double click on the shortcut, it will automatically reboot in dos mode,
using those specific .sys.bat files - once you exit the game normally,
it asks you to "hit any key" and you are back in windows 95.

works great for me, and I actually notice an improvemnet in speed (can use
more graphic detail now on my 486/33 w 8Meg ram.

hope this helps..

IndyCar Racing II allows you to save the current race weekend.

Hmm...that's peculiar...what kind of hardware do you have?? I've loaded NASCAR on at least three
machines with Win 95.(I'm a tech at this computer shop) ..i always installed it from "dos" prompt and ran
it from the "dos" prompt...never had any problems...do they install okay?? it's crucial that they be
installed with 95 shut down..not just the "dos" prompt from the start menu...tell ya what..if you delete
them both and try to reinstall it and it still doesn't work....email me and i'll see what i can figure out..

I don't understand the need for such blind venom.  I can't see the
early access ICR 2.x, but it seems to me that if you can save the
entire race weekend, you can surely save the race?

me. Maybe with ICR III you'll finally get it right.
