Papyrus tracks

Having become an *** to ICR2, I would like to know if someone are able to
or if it is at all possible/legal to change a few minor track details.

Kerbs; where have they all gone? As far as I know, the only kerbed tracks are
Sears Point and Pocono. I really miss the yellow kerbs at Portland, and the
Wall in turn one is just not right! It makes the corner totally blind, which
is far away from the original track. Much less e***ment....
The same goes for the chicanes at Surfers and Watkins glen. I know that
removing walls caters for a great deal of programming, but I hope that there
are some geniuses out there with the same feelings. Of course, I don`t want
the Papyrus tracks to end up like GP1/2, because kerbs there are not for use,
they are too dramatic. Try straightlining any chicanes at 0.2 mph, and the car
spins.....Typically Geoff Crammond! Not that I straightline the chicanes, but
the possibility to do so definitely adds a touch of realism.

BTW, anyone thought about converting Suzuka for NASCAR?? That would be raw!

The only problem with converting suzuka is that nascar didn't use the
whole track. And it would probably be impossible to do anytway.

Depends on the track. Some kerbs are meant for use (eg Jerez), some most
definitely are not (eg the inside ones at Magny-Cours). It all depends on
the philosphy behind the construction of the track.

Use the kerbs that are meant to be used, keep well away from those that
aren't <g>

Oh, and make sure that your car is setup to make the best advantage of
them! Just because _your_ car may spin when you hit them, doesn't mean
that mine does ;-)

Cheers,
Richard
