The MOTD screen shows me WS_TIMEOUT and then the game tells me that my
version of the game is obsolete or that the game has been modified.

This started sometime last night, and at 10am central time, it's still
broken.

More info:  when I ping the servers, they respond. So, the machines are
still on and connected to the net.

Good info. No connection tonight on our regular race night. Talked to a
friend, down since yesterday.

Hmmm. Hate this. Oh well, still the best run out there.

Sure have, but you still have to FIND a suitable race. Sierra servers
make race selection a breeze. Log on anytime, pick a race and run it.

I've heard that the new VROC has been updated to support NR2K3.

I also heard that someone called Sierra and wwas told they were no
longer supporting the sim *at all*.

server.satx.rr.com:

The moment First-Racing bought the code,  the Sierra support stopped.
The fact the online servers kept running was probably due to a yearly
contract, which I'm guessing has now expired.

This has happened before, I am sure the servers will be up again
shortly. They will keep the servers running just to keep rubbing EA's
nose in it...

Any racing sim that doesn't include Pocono does indeed suck to high heaven!
