IndyCar Series - anyone playing it?

Just got this on the PC, quite impressed so far after a quick race at
Phoenix and Nazareth. Terrible driver arms though - can you switch them
off?!

Physics seems pretty good, maybe the suspension movement is a bit
exaggerated, but to my mind that's acceptable for a computer simulation.

Doesn't seem as though many people are playing it though? Hope I don't have
to do my own setups, haven't really got the patience to be a race engineer.

Anyway, I found ICS worth the money and quite a nice diversion from my
near-obsession with trying to complete a shift-R free lap of the Isle of
Man:) One day...

Give me a day or two after the sim comes out and I'll post complete
setups (in ascii, should require 2 lines per track) that will own the
AI everywhere.  Or the money you paid for this post back.

<snip>

I gave it a brief try - but the steering felt so bad with my Momo that
I gave up after 5 minutes. Also I know some C64 racing games which
have a better drawn dashboard :-/

I tried the demo, and could NOT get it to recognize my TSW wheel and pedals
correctly.  In short, I couldn't drive the damn thing, so I'm not about to
waste money on the retail.  Too bad, because I was really looking forward to
this one.
Stupid calibration routines probably put more people off a game than anything
else... :-(

I can't speak for the calibration routines, they worked OK for me - I'm
using a joystick - but it might be worth trying the retail from somewhere
you can take it back if you can't get it to work?

One question: Does it support multiple simultaneous controllers, like the EA
and Papy sims?  If so, I'll probably try it.

The controller config is exactly the same at Rally Trophy.

It recognises my Gravis Analogue Pro joystick perfectly, Eldred. :)

Calibration issues.How true.Why can't every game follow GPL or N2003 's
routines

Well, I got it to work with RT, albeit with a bit of difficulty.

Thanks, Jason.

<slaps Bruce with a trout>

Wow - those still EXIST?!?  I thought that was a GREAT joystick.  When mine
broke, I couldn't find a replacement, dammit.

Do those places still exist?  The last place I knew of that had a return
policy(Electronics Boutique) eliminated it... :-(
