I am thinking about overclocking my V2.

Any input...Pro or Con?

How do I do this?...any worthwhile links?

Thanks

I've done it with my V2 but haven't noticed any real difference (I have a
Celeron o/c'd to 450). If I o/c'd more than a few % GPL locked up very
regularly.

I can't remember the URL but the file is called v2oc1400.zip by Gary
Peterson dated 07-24-98 (US).

I overclocked my V2. Not a big difference in frame rate at 96 MHz. Maybe a
couple FPS.

Anything over 96 MHz tended to cause random lockups. At 96 MHz, I eventually
fried the thing (after 1 1/2 years) and had to replace it.

This was a Canopus w/ the fan. If you don't have a cooling fan, I wouldn't
overclock it at all.

Regards,
Gordon

It's not going to help much though. GPL is by far more dependent on CPU
cache than the speed of your card. I admit however that I have over clocked
my V3 to 170 but I doubt if it really increased my frame rate more that one
or two fps at best.

Cheers,
Kent
