Hi all,
I'm a little bit annoyed with the dead zone on the patched rendition version
of n2. I've tried all sorts of things to make it less and I just cant seem to
get it the way I'd like it. It still plays okay, I'd just like it to be better.
I like the road courses and its most noticable there.
I've tried,
tricking the calibration routine
changing wheel lock
removing the limit stops on my wheel
unsuccessfully using pre patch calibration files (wouldn't go)
searching deja news
reading n2 website faqs
adding a trim adjustment to my wheel
i think my problem is caused by my 686L-200+ chip. I found this clip
instruction, which is not supported on the early Cyrix chips.<<<<
i think my chip supports the Pentium RDTSC but is treated like an older chip
by N2's calibration routine, thats part of the patch
i don't mind upgrading the chip, however i'd like to wait and see what the
full retail version of GPL needs to run.
currently i have a
686L-200+
Stealth 2
80 megs mixed ram (yes, i know)
homemade wheel & pedals w/100k ohm pot (they work perfectly with Soda & 95icr2
& pre patch non rendition N2)
Thanks for any and all suggestions
Dave
