Since I got N2 I have been driving a Pontiac for no reason other than I
happen to own an 88 Fiero GT. Having had a little time to use the sim and
practice and even win a few races with 100% AI, I began to wonder about the
various performance factors of the Chevrolet, Ford and Pontiac in the game.
Is there any real advantage to driving at Chevrolet vice a Pontiac...i
mean, will one always be faster or handle better than the other? Or is it
more of a personal like thing and a good setup will give good results no
matter what you drive? Comments.

All three body styles have the same drag coefficient in the game. The
difference is the distribution of downforce. The Chevy has better rear
downforce, which is an advantage on speedways and superspeedways. The Ford
has better front downforce, which is considered an advantage on short
tracks and road courses. The Pontiac is balanced front and rear.

It takes awhile to get to the point where you are sensitive enough to the
car handling to really feel the difference, it's pretty subtle. However,
the Chevy tends to be a little twitchier on the exit and requires a lot
more steering input to keep it pointed the right direction. I would
recommend a Ford or Pontiac for beginners, at least until you get to the
point where you can actually feel the difference between the body styles.
