Driver Demo controls

Hi all!

Can anyone tell me what the control keys are for the Driver Demo? I
downloaded it but can't seem to control the car. I have tried virtually
every key on the keyboard and so far, have only honked the horn or changed
viewpoints......

Or should I use a joystick/wheel?

Any comments would be very much appreciated...

After you get past the first two splash screens, on the third screen, press
up or down to choose the Options menu to remap the keys.

even if you do use the joystick, gas/brake is just an on/off switch in the
demo....at least for me it is...

On the screen where it says "Demo Chase" use the arrow keys to select
"Options". Hit the Enter key, then similarly select "Controls" and finally,
on the next screen, "Redefine".

Alternatively you can select joystick or wheel as your control device, but
Driver is, to me, one of those games best played using keys.

Using a wheel or joystick, the throttle is real notchy with the more
powerful cars, including the default car in the demo.  You can slowly
accelerate with just a bit of pedal, then go past half throttle or so
and it blasts off.  Try the demo hack - lets you use some of the less
powerful cars, like the pickup or the old Monte Carlo (or Cutlass or
something), and they handle real well compared to the muscle cars.
Cornering with a wheel is a trip - eventually you get used to the
overwhelming pushy loose - plow into corners then snap-spin.   You can
do 4-wheel drifs, but be real careful.

Really? The sliding works extraordinarily well with my Logitech
Wingman FF wheel. The FF is so well done, you can feel just thwner the
wheels are braking away. I can execute perfect, controlled powerslides
99% of the time (especially with the camaro).

Yes, exactly. My MS FF handles the machine great and the slides feel
very good in fact (FF, general 'feel' of the slide). I like it very
much. Think I'll have to buy the game.
