F1C : M3 Mod CTD

Hello

Game loads, i can select team, create a player, make controller adjusts and
so on, choose track, the track loads but then just when it's finished and I
should get the "pit view" the game CTD...

GTR mod is running perfectly and so is F1C

Is there an obvious fix or did I forget something ?

The video settings are done and so in the M3 config file and the player
file...

Thanks

I was dealing with the exact same thing the past two days.  The solution
I found was there is an extra v1.0 car file that didn't get deleted.  When
the sim goes to load up the cars the old v1.0 car file conflicts with the
duplicate v1.1 and CTD.
If your in the mod, you can check if there is an extra cars by editing
your driver.  Look first in the ETCC guest drivers team.  I had two # 22
cars.  One with a real named driver(v1.1) and another with a name of ETCC
Guest Driver(v1.0)
If you find a team like that, use windows explorer to navigate down to
F1c\m3cSeasondata\vehicles\(Whatever team you found the 3rd car in)ETCC
Guest ...
double click on the .veh files.  There should be 3 of them.  Two of the
files will have the name of a driver, the 3rd will say Guest ETCC driver.
That is the bad one.  So either delete that file or rename it by reversing
the extension...from .veh to .hev  Also there is a .bmp file that
corresponds to the .veh file.  Should have the same car# and file name,
just delete that icon file or reverse the extension also..from .bmp to
.pmb.
That was my fix, don't know if it will apply to your problems.
ps.. even before finding and renaming the extra file, I could run in test
mode, but it was the RACE choice that caused the CTD.

pps  make sure you create your player with the same utility that runs the
M3C3dconfig installer.  Then you can make whatever changes you need inside
the mod.

Thanks for your tips

I can run a test mode no prob, i do not have a "duplicate driver", ETCC
has only 1 #22 and the other teams are "clean (ie no duplicate), I still
have a CTD as soon as I try to enter a race... weird

I created my player with the m3config tool so i can modify my player from
within the mod.

What can I do ?

thanks

What are your pitcrew settings and where is your starting position for
quick races?   I haven't dug into M3c enough to know if they have full
pitcrews, so try reducing that graphic option to low and make sure you Do
NOT use a season starting position.  Either set your quickrace starting
position to Random or choose a spot on the grid...using the season option
means the sim goes looking for files for Schumacher and Montoya and Irvine
etc.

Ai cars 23 (was 23)

CTD...

life is hard !!!    o:)

what do i try next , can i email you my "options" files so you can try them
on your computer ?

sure, go ahead...zip it up so it doesn't pickup *** net artifacts.

I'd double check the individual folders and make sure a stray vehicle
.veh file isn't in there.   I don't know if there is a car manager
available yet for F1C but you can rename ALL the carfiles and one by one
re-enable them.  If you can get to a race with just one car, then two, then
three, when you finally crash you'll now which car it was.  I guess I'd
save time by disabling all but one folder so you have two cars, and IF THAT
WORKS then re-enable another folder(two cars).  I hope you have the nocd
exe and have the intro movie disabled...this will speed up the booting
process.
