There AREN'T a lot of problems with video or game crashing.  You are just
keying in on the extreme minority that have the problem.

Very few having perfect success say so.  Those will problems always say so.
It's like this with _any_ product.

Most of the problems I"ve read so far have involved cards that are old,
aren't supported anyway, or are in overclocked situations.

N3 is the first version worth any money since the original N2 came out.
N1999 is the one that was worthless to me.

I haven't had any problems with N3, other than the online issues.
And online issues aren't very bad on some hosts, while others are very bad.
We have set up this game on several platforms this week, mostly
experimenting with a LAN race on our network at work.  We had computers
ranging from 333a celerons to P3 450's.  We also had several different video
cards and sound cards, ranging from SB16 to A3D cards, and S3 video to Rage
IIC to Voodoo3.  And we only had one problem with a Rage Card having

I highly recommend this game to anyone who is the least bit of a Nascar Fan,
and w/ A3D on headphones it is amazing.

Just my 2 cents worth...

What's also bad is when the host puts up a practice, leaves to do
something else (like repaint his whole house or bake a cake) and you're
stuck which a bunch of demo derby morons in practice eternity... Then
you have people coming and leaving; I really hate that.

crashed out, kill the game for everyone by quitting N3 or jumping to another

We need 'Digital Handcuff's' :)

Funny you should mention that.

I joined 5 races tonight.  Not ONE DAMNED ONE of them ever left practice.
Not ONE!

This is BS.  I sure hope that _someone_ takes over the NROS soon.  I can't
stand this WON crap.

Yeah, I was up front in a race when a host reset after he crashed on
the first lap.  Guess he didn't want to watch others race for another
18 laps at Tally.  I will then remember the host's user name and try
to stay away from his server.

There is nothing wrong with the video in 3dfx Glide mode.
And the game has never crashed. IMHO N3 is *WAY*
better than N2/N99.

I always try to monitor the number of people connected and when it
seems satisfactory I will type a message in the chat which usually
prompts other users to agree... the hosts (if not repainting the
hosue) then usually enters qualifying.
