Just downloaded the actual practice and race fastest laps
for the 1967 GP's from www.theuspits.com , Clarkes FL in
qualifying was 3.28.1 at Spa - hey swizz! GPL's AI should run at
this, then my 3.25's (joystick) would put me on pole, never
mind way off VROC pace. I think a virtual Ferrari went round
at 3.13something the other day.

Hill still whupped my ass at the Glen with a 1.05.48 (me 1.07ish)

By the way, how much do lap times improve with a wheel and
pedals? There are some turns where I reckon a dab of brakes
but wide open throttle (impossible with a joystick) would be
quicker...

I use a ff joystick & pedals. It's much better than two (or one) joystick.

I made the pedals using an old joystick's X & Y axies. V. Cheap, v. good.

Ignore the Spa laptimes in GPL compared to real life. Our Spa is fairly
unrealistic (much too wide, the shape is off so bad in some places it would
highly alter the speed of the corner).
