SCGT Prompting for CD

OK I have reinstalled SCGT (Gen. CD)

(1) I install it and launch SCGT and can play it no probs (note CD is in)
(2) I install SP3 and SP3.1 and run it no probs (note CD is in)
(3) I install the GT500 and GT300 Carsets
(4) Launch the game by running JTC.EXE and when I get to the create a player
name I type one in and it prompts me to install the CD? (note CD is in)

What am I doing wrong?

Just curious, where did you get the GT500 and GT300 carsets?

Thanks,
Hal

Ok, I have a similar problem -- my wife's Win98 SE PC keeps asking for
the CD even though (a) it's there and (b) we're running the BanScene
noCD version of SCGT.

This happens with software that has CD-validation so it's not an SCGT
problem, per se, but any tips would be appreciated.

Hint (or maybe red herring): She recently installed an external CD-RW.

I had the SAME problem, with a CD-RW and win98se & the Ban Scene utility.
What I did was go to Sean Staples SCGT page and use his no-cd executables.
This fixed the problem and also got the uspits touring car patch up and
running as well.
