Also make sure you have "wheel" checked under setup. This gives you linear
steering versus non-linear for "joystick". Makes a big difference.

In what programs are we talking about? I have found that using
Thrustmaster's ACM gamecard greatly reduced the "sensitivity" of both my
T1 and now the NASCAR Pro wheel. The range of input read through most
soundcard gameports are 3-4 times higher than they should be on fast
machines. The ACM card corrects this scale and actually brings about a
more precise control.
Some sims allow altering the steering sensitivity in their setup
(Papyrus' sims do not). However, with Papyrus sims you may wish to
reduce the wheel lock in the garage settings.

Well, there is the wheel (used to be called "linear") vs joystick
(used to be "non-linear") setting. It's alterable, but there are only
two settings...
