Is there a sense of speed when playing this game? Thanks

in a sentence, no because the sense of speed is not realistic.

It really matters what you want to compare it to.  At the long Dayton track,
I really didn't feel like I was doing 190MPH, more like I was doing 80.  But
thats my opinion.  GPL so far has the best sense of speed for me.  But
that's just me.

The sense of speed is OK, the physics are remakable, ideal for those of us
who find GPL too frustrating but still want more than an arcade racer.
Balance! Fun! That's this game.

I'd agree with the balance, fun, and remarkable physics comments, but for me
the sense of speed was nearly nonexistant. On some of the tracks, it's
downright unbearable how different what you are seeing is from the speed you
are supposedly going. I would love to see them fix this, and get some more
inspired track graphics, in any sequel they might do.

BTW: are there even rumors of a sequel yet?

I haven't heard anything official yet, but I believe MGI would like to
have another racing title ready for this year's Christmas shopping
season.  I don't know if they're working on anything yet or just
hoping, but keep your fingers crossed . . .

sense of speed depends on which camera view you use. The in car seems the
slowest. The suspension cam is the best.

Suspension can is the one I always use, it gives the best sense of speed
and lets you plant the tires within inches of the edge of the track curves
(good for picking up tenths of a second!)

The sense of speed isn't great, but the game is awesome. It reminds me
of Need for Speed SE for some reason. I imagine I'll still be playing
Viper in a year from now.
For reference, NFSSE is probably my favorite sim with GP2 and MGPRS2
both coming in second. I think Viper will now take second place .. I
love this game. :)
