NASCAR in SVGA on 3D Blaster/486-120 runs 22-25 fps

Got my Creative Labs 3D Blaster (VLB) for my AMD486-120 (w/mach 64 2mb
vram)  this weekend and it runs at 22-25 fps , (depending on tracks,
etc)  with ALL graphic details on except grass texture. Very, very
nice. This is what I was getting in lo-res VGA before I got the 3D
Blaster, but now I can really enjoy the great graphics (much closer to
a VR type experience). The board comes with a special ported version
of NASCAR, which is identical in graphics appearance to my standard
NASCAR version in SVGA mode. ( which was too slow/choppy to use unless
most of the detail was turned off.)  BTW,  I heard the 3D Edge port of
NASCAR which has a hi-res mode was not as hi a res as SVGA 640-480,
but noticeably less. I also tried the 3D board with a Pentium
Overdrive 83Mhz chip in the same machine and got almost the same
results, maybe just a bit slower. Also see my next post on P166
performance with standard version of NASCAR.

A happy camper,
Stackman
