Which video card

Hi Everyone,

It's been awhile since I've been on the newsgroup.  I need a little advice
about which video card to buy.  I've have a *** Max PII 333 with a Permedia
card.  I'm looking to add a 3d card for ***.  I running mainly Nascar 2 but
do like other racing sims.  What would the advice be for an all round ***
card.  Is the Monster 3d with 12 meg the best choice.

What about the Rendition cards?  I have one in my old 233 mmx..  How are the
Rendition cards now?  And is there a pick of the bunch?

One last question.  When I run NR1999 I have to use the software option to
start it.  I assume that is because my video card will not support the 3dfx
option.  Also I find contray to the readme file that my proformance is much
better in DOS then running out of windows.  In windows the grapics look nothing
like they do in DOS.  Not just frame rate the the actual appearance.  Is this
because of the lack of 3dfx support?

Thanks for any help,

Gerald Hetrick

I'll keep it short. Papy sims are written for rendition, the best is a hercules
thriller 8 meg.
But if you play other games that require 3dfx then... put in a second card.
