Hawaii Questions ( MANY )

by B.J. Vost » Sun, 04 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I have many questions about Hawaii.  Please e-mail me when you reply.
1. Do I have to use a certain car set?
2. Say your racing a race at 5%.  How long would the race take from
pratice to finish?
3. Can I go to the garage and load a setup for the qualifying round and
then change to my race setup after?
4. Do I change graphic options ( SVGA, how many cars in front, textures,
etc. ) before the race ( in say an option menu when connected on Hawaii )
, or can during the race could I change skids/paints etc.
5. This is for anyone on the west coast- What would be the cheapest time
to race in the week? How much would 1 race cost?
All the questions I can think of now.

1. You can use your own, but I would recommend using theirs. The car numbers
displayed on the screen are based on the Hawaii (multi) car set. It's real
confusing when your car numbers don't match.

2. Depends on the track and settings but it seems like the pick up races run
about 15 minutes or so (5-10% races).

3. Yes, but you can nominate an IROC type race where everyone is forced to
use the same setup (ie ACE) to qualify and race with.

4. Hmm... don't think so. I don't believe you can get to the main menu. You
can run the multi.exe program offline and set your options before going
online.

5. That's a question for your LD phone company. Some are as low as 9 cents a
minute (I've heard even 8.5 cents) between the hours of 7PM to 7AM.

No. I use Maui.zip.

5% at which track? At Taladega practice last 5 minutes. Qualifying lasts
5 minutes or until everyone qualifies. There is a 30 second 'warmup' to
reload your race setup.

Yes unless it is an IROC type race.

You can set VGA/SVGA. Graphics are whatever you have set for NASCAR. You
cannot change them from inside Hawaii. Cars in front are set by Hawaii
to around 7 or 8.

Check with your LD carrier.
