It seems I remember a hack for NFS-HS to enable
the 32 bit graphics mode. I'm trying to run it with a
new GF3 card and so far it looks terrible and seems to
run slow. Thought I'd try this out if anybody knows.
Thanks
Jim

once again..spending big money to run programs that aren't designed for
the features the GF3 has....tsk tsk..
I hope you find a fix...good luck...and by next year you should have some
really whiz bang programs that take advantage of the Gee Force 3 Ultra
++....you do have that model right?

So just because I get a new video card I'm not going to
try and run some old games I happen to like?

Nono...but it is a common theme around here...people upgrade just to
upgrade, without considering what that upgrade will actually do for them.
From what I can tell, a GF3 at this time is worth maybe a couple of fps and
that's all.  Given time, the software will catch up and it will be a good
purchase...I jussssst don't see any clear cut reason to buy a GF3 at this
time...(sorry I guess I did sound rather rude in my original reply.)
and really...good luck getting everything working I hope your problems are
quickly solved.

WOW! You really answered his question.

Excuse me while I take the time to bash someone else's purchase rather than
answer the question at hand.

My system was getting really out of date so while upgrading
to a AMD 1.333/266 and a Asus A7V133 I thought I might as well
go with a new video card while I was at it. Everything else was sold as
a complete unit so I had no choice but to upgrade now. I thought I might
just get the best there is now rather than buy again later. Maybe not the
best buy for the money right now but what can I say I wanted it :)
Anyway any suggestions on the original post???
Thanks,
Jim

yeah...I already covered that...my ONE of my many concerns about the Gee
Whiz 3 is the history of Nvidia.  Remember when T&L was first introduced?
How many people bought that first offering to run T&L games?  How many of
those first cards are 'capable' of running T&L games(hint..see Gunslinger's
problems with N4 and his TNT2)
So yeah I jumped on his case...I'm sorry.  I don't have a solution because
I haven't seen a solution.  I did, however, attempt to warn others who may
be tempted to buy a gee force 3.  It 'may' be a great card..but at this time
I wouldn't recomend ANY sim racer get one.
