To load setups, look for the description (Ace, Easy, Fast), at the top
left of the data sheet.  This is a pull-down style menu, and you can
specify one of the other setups this way.  Also, notice that there is
one (pull down menu) for qualifying and the race.

To load a car setup, just click on the drop-down box and select the car
setup you want. It loads the settings as soon as you've selected it. Note
that the top 2 drop-down boxes select the setup that gets loaded when you
start a qualifying or race session. If you've ever accidentally started a
race with a qualifying setup, you'll find this very useful.

I have seen the pull down menus but i'm trying
to save a setup as a different name than fast, easy
or qual. it wont let me save under any other name.
The book also shows a load command under
the setup menu, I dont see that. Also, has
anyone else noticed the rear view mirror being
half blued out. the top portion of my mirror shows
nothing but the sky and blocks out the top
half of the car behind me. AUESOME GAME!!!!!
Thanks
Wally

This doesnt work for me either... I can load the setups that coem with
the game.. but if I make changes.. change the name. and save it I have
no way to get the setup back (it never adds it to the drop down lists).
Also if I change the defaults for racing and qualifying it doesnt save
the default choices.. it always goes to Easy and Easy.

It's a little awkward and takes some getting used to. Click on the field
name next to the pull down. Now you can type in a new setup name and then
click on Save at the bottom of the screen.

Dave,

But then how do you load the saved setup in subsequent sessions? The new
setup is not added to the pulldown and there is no "Load" button like
the manual says?

Make sure you hit the return key after you enter the new setup name.

YES!!!! That is a great fix over N1

Some "bugs" have unfortunately carried over to N2 such as:

-cars can occupy the same space at the same time. Something Einstein would
probably like to look at.

-cars have automatic spin recovery. This of course mimics the real life
giant hydraulic powered ball bearing under the middle of the car. Ahem.

-Stomping on the brakes does NOT lock up the tires. Spinning on
acceleration is great, but they must have modeled the brakes after Volvo
ABS or something.

The only bad change, and I think this will get fixed, is the wimpy tire
squeal and soft sound.

Jeff, unfortunately, it seems if you did a minimum install of the
game this problem occurs! In order to get the load button you need to do
a full install!

Thanks, Pete. I'll try doing a full install. Fortunately, I ask Santa
for 2.1 gig hard drive for Xmas. :)

This sounds like a pretty serious flaw, however. Forcing us to use
almost 100 meg of disk space just we can load setups just doesn't cut
it, Sierra. Sounds like patch time to me. Adam?

I did a full install and I don't have a load button but you
don't need it. It takes awhile to figure it out.

I was able to copy my setups from my N1 track directories directly to my
N2 track directories, and they showed up in the pull down menu in N2.
'Course, now I have to figure out if my N1 setups are gonna' be any good
in N2.  ;-)

I'm guessing you did a minimal install. There's a bug in the program and it
seems to look to the CD for setups when you do a minimal install. So your
setups are saved on the hard disk, but you can't see them. Try doing a full
install (crossing my fingers and hoping you have the disk space for it).
