Nascar 1 & loading car sets

by jpst.. » Tue, 11 Nov 1997 04:00:00

When I bought my Matrox Millennium card (4meg) it came bundled with some
software, one of which is Nascar 1. When I start it it says its version 1.21 I
think.  Anyway, about a month ago I decided to give it a try and now I'm hooked.
Even went out and bought the T2 steering wheel.  Surfing the net I came across
some of the great car sets out there, for example WC97.ZIP among others.  The
problem I'm having is once I load a car set (doesn't matter which one) and go to
race, the car set is loaded but I can't get into the garage and load my car
setups or tweak anything.  The message I get is something like "Can't load the
garage."  I have search Deja News, went to several Nascar site, read at ton of
FAQ's and came up empty.  I would appreciate any suggestions.  I really don't
want to be stuck racing with those lame cars that come with the game.

Thanks

Hi there,
I had the same problem.
You are probably running your nascar off the d: (cdrom) drive.
You need to run it off the C: drive where you have it installed to
get to the garage and load and save files.
Hope this helps. I'm no expert.
Aloha, Henry

Heres what ya need to do.  Visit the pits.  Http://www.theuspits.com/
Go to the Workshop, go to the archives, click Nascar1 and scroll down
until you see Jed's Nascar car set converter.  You probably got the
european version like I did, and the US car sets won't load into the
garage until you convert them.  Hope this helps.
