GPL XP and SBLive - Good news!

Good news!  Creative have released their official XP drivers for the SBLive,
and at last, the GPL sound problem has gone!!!  Gone is the crackling,
popping and unbearable 'stepped' sound from the engines!
The Ferrari sounds great again.

It worked for me anyway.  The new MS driver in update didn't work by the
way.

I have a Full SBLive (Not Value), and the XP drivers are not till November.
Will it matrter if I iubnstall the Value drivers?

I too have got the full Live and not the value.  It is very confusing on the
Creative site, because it says SBLive / Value.  That suggests not just for
Value!  Anyway, I installed the drivers on top of my existing LW3 and
everything is now perfect with sound on GPL and everything else including
AudioHQ (mixer and surround).

GPL XP and SBLive - Good news!

If you can't get the drivers (the page appears to be down at the moment)
make sure that you go to the gpl.exe file, right click and go to the
'Compatability' tab.  Then be sure to "Run as 98/ME" in the settings.

This cleared up the sound problems, no more distortion, banging, irratic
engine sounds, and all that rubbish.

... Or at least this worked for me :o)
