Another interesting observation. Tonight I decided to try Voodoo2
again. With TNT the game was slowing down, especially in the menus
(earlier I blamed this on the game seeking the CD rom), and I was
getting the occasional pause in the game (although it looked good). I
set up the Voodoo2 to force triple color buffering. The game no longer
had the washed out appearance I mentioned earlier.
Curiously enough, 3 other problems disappeared when I used the
Voodoo2:
1) While using the TNT the game shut down slowly, accompanied by a lot
of hard-drive thrashing (sometimes lasting up to a minute). This was
now gone.
2) The slow menus are no longer slow.
3) There are no longer occasional pauses in the game.
I am convinced this game has some problems with the TNT. Voodoo2
appears to be the best alternative when running OF1R. At least it is
in my case.
