ps. I'm not sure if you know this, but in the old version of SpyGirl I noticed
that the 2nd car would always lose it's ride-height information. Is that fixed
as well?

PS What I really would like to have in Spygirl is the option to start
the two cars on exactly the same spot for a perfect comparisson, or is
this technically very hard to do / impossible?
Thanks,
Andre

Thanks. You can download it from "Schubi's hotlap" at
http://gpl.gamesmania.com. This site has the fastest webmaster of the world
! Files are on his (very nice) website before you've pushed the "send mail"
button ...
Yes i know this, but i believe it is a problem in GPL itself. The second car
is actually a simulation of a "networked car" in the merged replay, and
those are handled differently by GPL (ride height is not stored the same
way). We are quite confident that we convert ride-height correctly, but GPL
seems to always put networked cars nose not as high as it should be ... For
example, try to merge the same car of the same replay and you will see this
problem ...

Sorry this is not possible .. Replays do have no more than 36 frames per
sec, so cars can not be synchornized very well when they go fast :
1/36s at 300 km/h means something like 2,3 meters at worst
Joe
I read these lines over and over again but I really don't understand
it....
Perhaps you misunderstood me? What I meant is that I would like to see
both cars starting on exactly the same spot. Then I would be able to
see who reaches the first corner first, how big the gap is between
both cars at the second corner etc.
I don't see what this has to do with frame rates....
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here?

Synchorizing two cars on a specific spot would be simple in the absolute,
but how would you want to specify this spot in the GUI (corner's name ?,
gear change ?)
A way to do this would be that one player make a lap (as slowly as you want)
where he would specify spot points with his arm (putting his arm up would
mean "hey i want a spot just here") ; so SpyGirl could use this "reference"
lap to propose spot points ...
Anyway SpyGirl v0.4 give you some way to do "spot comparison". For this you
just have to do a merge, then compare (with your eyes :-)) the time gap
between the cars at the starting spot, then make a new merge using "right
player advance" with a shift equal to the time gap between the cars at the
spot
Not sure i was crystal clear, but i tried :-)
Olivier
PS: can you also email me for the response, cause i will not be at home in
the next 4 days ...
With the previous versions of Spy Girl the first car started exactly
at the start/finish line, the other car started about 2 cars length
behind the s/f line, thus making a good comparison impossible.
But the new version (0.4) works perfect, both cars start at the s/f
line. Just what I wanted!
Thanks,
Andre
