I would like to give my Diamond Monster II 12MB Voodoo 2 to a friend of
mine to use in SLI with his 12MB Voodoo2.  His is not Diamond, though.  
It's an OEM value brand or something.  Should they work together?  Are
there any FAQ's around about this?  TIA.

This is how it goes:

1st, to run SLI with best performance you will require a 12MB Voodoo2,
both of which MUST be from the SAME company, i.e. Creative Labs or
Diamond.

2nd, some people have been successful in combining a 12MB Voodoo2 from
one company, and an 8MB Voodoo2 from another company. However, this
will result in some performance loss.

3rd, you must be a nice fellow to be offering a friend your Voodoo2,
but couldn't you give it to me instead? ;-) <g>

And yes, there are FAQ's on this subject. Run a search for newsgroups
with 'voodoo' in them, and subscribe to all the Voodoo2 related
groups. Ask them in there.

Yes, they will work together if you use the 3DFX reference drivers.
   Also, first make sure the SLI connector on both cards are the same
size.  Some companies used a mini connector (like the Obsidian boards) in
order to make you buy another one of their overpriced Voodoo 2 boards.  I
got rid of my Obsidian and bought 2 new Voodoo 2 boards for the price they
wanted for one more.
    But ya, with the reference drivers it will work.
