Microsoft Pedal Question

by Chris Bloo » Sun, 14 Jan 2001 18:38:36

I got some liquid in the accelerator pot of my MS Precision Racing Wheel
Pedals.  Now it doesn't have the full range. For example when calibrating in
GPL it just goes from 17 to 64.  This is fine for games which have their own
calibration screen but for games that use the game controller panel for the
calibration settings I am unable to get proper acceleration.

I was thinking of a few possible remedies:

Replacing the pedal unit?  Do Microsoft sell the pedals seperatly or is
their another make that will work?

Replace the Pot?  Is this possible? Can you get them seperatly?

Switch the brake and accelerator pot? Is this possible by just switching the
wiring across?

Configuring the sidewinder software to trick it into accepting the current
range as the full range?  This would be the easiest but I can't find
anything that allows you to adjust the pedal sensitivity or range.

Which of the above are possible?  Whatever the fix, it will have to be
comparitivly cheap as there is no way I can afford a complete wheel set
again and I see no reason to replace the actual steering wheel as it works
fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris,

I have a MSFF wheel that no longer works properly and you are more than
welcome to have one of the pots from the brake assembly if you want. It
should just drop right in.

Bye,
