Force Feedback - weak

by ryan_jo.. » Mon, 06 Sep 1999 04:00:00

Just bought an Interat V4 FF wheel.  Build quality etc very good.  In
Control-Panel, all the effects are very strong.

However, in TOCA2, the effects are quite weak.  Is there any way to "up
the force!?"

Also, the gear paddles do not work, and if you have that naff joyact
running in the background, the game becomes a dog.

software 1.00.900
driver 1.00.920
Firmware 1.0
hw version 0.4

PS - driver 925 on the website made the whole thing not work.  FTP to
their support site manually and you will see the 920 driver on the
site.  Shipped with 900 driver which made no difference.

Anyone help?

Thanks
RJ

PPS - is GPL better racing than TOCA2?  If so, what spec machine makes
it playable?
PPPS - is it better to upgrade from 333 Celeron to 400 Pentium 2, or
buy a Voodoo 3 card  (Currenlty voodoo 1).

GPL is -much- more realistic than TOCA2.

But a motherboard that allows you to clock your current Celeron 333mhz
to 500mhz and buy a $79 Voodoo3-2000. All of that will cost less than
the 400 and it will be much faster. It will SCREAM with GPL, or anything else.

An ABIT BX2 V2.0 motherboard would work nicely.

I've only played the demo of TOCA2, but the FF in the demo were very
weak. My guess is that it's the game.

Just re-installed TOCA (1) and the effects are stronger when off-road
or kurbing it.

There must be a cheat, patch, hack to up the ff effects.  Anyone??
