GPL & VIA chipset

by Suppor » Tue, 16 May 2000 04:00:00

Hello all,

If anyone knows of any caveats regarding the VIA Apollo 133 chipset on
an Atrend motherboard and GPL (or any other simulators/games for that
matter) with a Celeron 533 and a Voodoo 2, I'd certainly appreciate
hearing about it before I take the plunge.

Yeah, I was going on about K6-IIs last time, but my budget has gone up a
bit, plus I've got valuable "significant other" points at the moment as
she just bought an antique dining room set...might as well use them
while I can...8^).

Thanks,

I have a VIA chipset and have no problems.
Make sure you download the latest drivers from www.via.com.tw

I have an Atrend 5200 s7 mobo with K6-2 400 Via MVP3 chipset and V2 card and
GPL and my other "sims" play fine , if a little slower than I'd ideally
like. I'll be taking a look at the Duron benchmarks when they come out
though since I'm planning an upgrade later this year.
