GPL version?

by Dan Tolos » Fri, 17 Jan 2003 08:11:06

I just purchased a copy of GPL (I live in the US, purchase from a US
warehouse) and I'm wondering how to tell which version of GPL I have.  The
CD cover says it's from www.sold-out.co.uk does this mean it is the UK
version or do they ship different versions to different countrys?

Is there a file I can look at to determin which version this is before
installing the latest GPL 1.2 patch?

Thanks,
Dan

The version you bought should have the patches on the disk already in a folder called patches.

Thanks Biz,

I just found that, it is the UK version.  This shouldn't present any
problems though right?

Thanks,
Dan

No it'll be fine. afaik the only thing that the country makes any difference
for is the 1.2 patch, and you have to use the one on your CD anyway, so even
that doesn't make a difference.

Good luck with it ;-)

Don, if you're running the UK version you're required to type any posts in
here regarding GPL with the Brit spelling. Using a lot of words that end in
"st" whilst ignoring your Z key and substituting S should cover it ;)

Can't argue with that. I'm British, and I've never used the Z key for
words like "fast".
