Is there anybody who uses a second Voodoo2 card.I am wondering how this wil
influece my framerate in GPL. Will thre be a big improvment? (System: PII,

Sjaak

I've posted three or four times on this one. See those for an idea of what
to expect.

There will be no improvement.  It will slow down slightly.

Under some circumstances, there is an improvement - in particular in
graphically intense sits (which is when you want it) and with a fast PII.
There are reasons for this, related to why the Rendition Verite chipset does
a better job with lower spec CPUs. Also, if you have a >350 PII and found
the frame rate heading south when you SLIed, it's worth checking that the
"Don't sync . . . " box is still checked. Although settings are usually
maintained while messing with drivers, I've found this one can get turned
off and yes, you will see the difference in the frame rate!

An addendum. On my PII 416Mhz system, I see an improvement of 10-20%
depending on circumstances. On of the most noticeable aspects is that
replays are visibly faster, this probably because the CPU isn't having to
deal with the AIs. The point here is that a CPU upgrade of 20% will actually
give you better all-round results - if you have to make a choice - because
you'll also be able to increase the number of competitors. However, at
US$150 or less the second card makes sense.
