Hello all players of GP2,

        Which is your favourite circuit?

        Here is mine ...

        1. Spa: Although I didn't get very good times there, I really
enjoyed driving there, because of the long corners. The only thing that
I don't like is the pit-lane exit ... too tight ....

        2. Jerez: I really like circuits with long fast (flat out)
corners, there are quite a few at Jerez, although a little bit tight at
the chicanes. Running quite a lot of downforce, but its good fun.

        3. Silverstone: You really can get a good rythm there ... (the
old GP1 layout is even better) ... again ... very very quick. Really
hate the tight section before the start/finish straight. Hmmm...
Add Suzuka there as well ... coz the 130R is really cool, and the S-
Curves all the way up to the hairpin is quick as well.

        4. Monza: Quicker than Silverstone, feels good when you know
you did well through the Ascari Chicane and the Parabolica.

        5. Montreal/Imola: both are circuits with long straights and
quick chicane, Montreal is smoother while Imola is quite bumpy ...

Here comes the ones that I like the least ...

        5. Monaco: because my computer is slow ... I couldn't run with
much details ... can't see the tunnel :( ... Hate the '4 corner in 1'
Rascasse ... but the track is generally ok ...

        4. Interlagos/Barcelona: both circuits are difficult to setup
the cars for ... always eat one tyre before the other ... Interlagos
too bumpy, and the slow section a bit tight, Barcelona, actually
pretty ok, just don't like it eating my tyres.

        3. Hockenheim: quite boring long straights, still don't have
a clue on how to master the Ostkurve chicane, the stadium section is
good.

        2. Aida: the Hair Pin, Revolver, Piper, Redman, Hobbs are all
disgusting corners ... ;) especially Hobbs corner unsettles the car
so much ... actually all the other corners are alright ... Moss S
and Attwood Curve are cool.

        1. Estroil: The tight chicane destroies everything ... always
lost the rythm there ... Don't like turn 4 and turn 7 either ... the
layout in GP1 is much much much better ...

Experts, please help me setup for the super disgusting slow
corners at Aida and Estroil ... thanks ...

        Have a nice day,

John

Well, I'm no expert but Sim Racing News will have a track guide for Aida
in the next issue. How do I know? Cuz I just finished writing it :)

I run low 1:09s (1:09.3xx), but the top guys are now running 1:07s :(  A
really great track once you get a setup and a rythmn going.

Cheers!
John

My favorites are as follows:

Interlagos - I love the fast section of the track and the feeling of
getting right the slow part.

Hungaroring - I guess I'm more comfortable on this one than anywhere else,
I actually drove a 100% race without putting a wheel on the grass (sand).
loved driving over the curbs, though.

Barselona - driving there gives a feeling of a fast track, it feels
awesome driving through the s-curves

I think Canada is quite cool. As you say, its quite nice when you get in
the rythmn.

France, I think is the worst, with Barcelona a close second. IMHO.

Definitely Monza, Long straights and fast corners, if your familiar with
the course, you can practically run flat out on it!

Of course the best ones are Monza - Imola - Spa Francorchamps -
Monaco.
I like very much Barcelona and Suzuka, too.
The worst is by far Hungaroring.

Whoooaaa! I'm surprised by this thought. A couple of friends and I
spent most of yesterday racing at France. I liked it from the moment I
first tried it. That's why I'm surprised. What is it you don't like?

I'm also very fond of the Gilles Villeneuve track in Montreal, and I also
agree about the Magny Cours and Barcelona being very boring.

My favourite tracks must be in this order.

1. Montreal
2. Monza
3. Suzuka

Nice tracks indeed, but how could you forget Suzuka and Silverstone ?
Those 2 are together with Spa the most challenging circuits !

Perfectly agreed !!!

My favourite tracks are:

1. Imola is in it's own class. Aque Minerale is really great!
2. Spa. Lots of nice fast corners.
3. Monaco. Very difficult and challenging.
4. France. Good combination of fast and slow corners.
5. Hungary. I like those long 180 degree turns.

The worst tracks:

3. Hockenheim. Boaring.
2. Monza          "
1. Estoril. I just hate it. The new chicane is ridiculous and impossible to drive.

Personally, I love Imola ... I get tremendous satisfaction from being
able
to do a really good lap there ... very fulfilling.

I hate what they have done to Portugal!!!!  That Mickey Mouse chicane
gives
me the shits!  I want the old layout back ... it used to be my favourite
circuit until they butchered it!

SN (I know 'reverse' is here somewhere ... crunch, grind, stall ....)
