How do you change shifter plates?  Do you remove the shifter knob, if so
how?  Afraid to put too much pressure on it to unscrew.

TIA,
Bob

Bob,

Just got my shifter yesterday and had the same question, called tech
support.  You have to pull the shift knob off, it's on there pretty good, do
not twist just pull straight off.

That's right just use constant pressure straight up holding the unit down
with your other hand, beware of the smack in the face when it comes off :-)

Regards

Bob

Thanks, I figured it had to be something simple.  Glad I wasn't the only one
:-)  Wonder why they don't put a comment in the help file?

Because then they'd be liable for the 1,456 knocked out, cracked or chipped
front teeth that are going to happen while changing the shifter plate!

Knocked out both of my front teeth yesterday.  Got *** all over my nice
new Ferrari racing shirt too.....thank God it was red to start with!

PS:  NASCAR 4 drivers:  Here's a cool bit of realism for you if you are
lucky enough to have one of these AL USB shifters.  Go to your local
autoparts store, or race shop if you have one near you, pick up a real-life
Hurst shifter ball (black or white) which is what most of the WC teams use
on their gearshifts.  You will have to get a reduction adapter sleeve (make
it yourself) and put about a 30 degree bend it if you really want
accuracy......and you've got yourself a WC AL Shifter.......!!  Its easy to
do, got mine done yesterday.  It also has better leverage for
shifting....and a better feel because of that, than the stock AL shift knob
(way too momo looking for my stockcar tastes).

No chipped teeth, but did just about throw my shoulder out when it did come
loose :-)

BTW, based on your suggestion, I picked up a Longacre 13" aluminum racing wheel
at I/O Port Racing in Lafayette for $50.  Sure is nice for N4....thanks for the
tip.

Going to post my review of the BRD system after my league race.  So far, I'm
very pleased.

Oh Yea? But how do I get rid of that square/cubed chrome thing on the
screen?
In all my days I have never seen a shift knob like that one. What was Papy
thinking?

The desk my PC sits next to is a corner unit and I'm having problems
lowering the shifter because of the 1) small area 2) angles.  I'm a
marketing guy not an engineer - anyone got any ideas or examples that might
help.
