I cannot get my MSFF wheel to work with Insane. In the advanced config
screen the settings for the wheel is kept ghosted all the time. Any ideas?

Oh, my. Here we go again...
I guess I'm the 'daxe' target of the week.
That's cool. Humor is good :)
And again, you completely ignore all the other complaints by other users
with the same problems, and go off on some sort of rant...

What planet are you on? I gave him (and anyone else with the
same problem) a possible solution. One that worked for me and other
people. I even offered to help further if needed. How is that
"completely ignore all the other complaints by other users
with the same problems"? Isn't offering solutions acknowledging the
problems?
All you did in your infinite wisdom was tell him it doesn't
work AS FAR AS YOU KNOW. If you don't know how to help someone, why
are you answering the post? Who or what do you suppose you are
helping by telling this guy that "As far as I know, nothing works"? I
don't know anything about how to do setups for GPL cars, but I don't
chime in to threads about it to say "Hey, I have no idea how to do
that, as far as I know it can't be done."
I read that people were having trouble with the controller
configuration in Insane. I had trouble with it, too. I read all the
answers that came in and did some of my own experimentation and found
a way to make my controller work. Lots of other people made their
controllers work, too. But, just like with WinME, I guess if it
doesn't work perfectly right out of the box with no hassles at all,
it's broken and YOU can't figure it out!
You obviously never took the time to try and find a solution
to this persons problem by reading up on it or you would have known
that there are ways to make it work and people who have it working.
However you found it necessary to "answer" his plea for help by
telling him you don't know anything about it? I think a rational
person understands that a post for help is directed towards people who
actually CAN help.
Everyones posts do appear in your newsreader, but they are not
all directed at you. Like I said before, I have seen you have good,
constructive, well informed answers for people, but I just don't get
the point of answering people by telling them something can't be done
when it can, that things are broken when they aren't or that you just
don't know anything about their problems. In some cases your
frivolous, negative posts might just be discouraging and put people
farther away from a solution.
