Possibly, but I discount that notion. The only control I'm touching is the
brake. The nose definitely snaps into the turn when I release the brake,
without my turning the wheel. Also, a "much slower frame rate" would be
noticeable. There was some degradation, but not to the point where I'm over
controlling.

I take your message to mean you haven't seen anything like this?

I noticed something somewhat odd today in Nascar. The car got much looser when
I turned on more detail, thereby lowering the frame rate. The only thing I can
attribute this to is coarser integrations on the car model. Has anyone else
experienced this?

In the first few laps at Marinsville, simply letting up on the brake sharply
is enough to snap the car into the turn, without turning the wheel. I
didn't notice this happening with lower graphic detail. It was fun to play
with at first: brake hard enough to make the nose dive, and come off the brake
sharply at the entry point. The nose rises quickly, and snaps quickly to the
left. If you time this right and play with the gas, you can slide it sideways
through most of the turn.

Anyway, this takes most of the e***ment out of head-to-head racing for me.
Car performance seems very much tied to machine speed. Thoughts?

What is probably happening is that you are getting a much lower frame rate, which makes it appear
as if things are happening quicker, when what is actually happening is that you are skipping
the intermediate frames.
