Enabling SVGA in Nascar

Enabling SVGA in Nascar

by Tony Moli » Wed, 24 May 1995 04:00:00

G'day,

I have the disk version of NASCAR (don't own a CD-ROM).

If I try to run Nascar in SVGA mode by typing "nascar -h" it tells me
it wont run without a CD-ROM drive.

Do I really need a CD-ROM to run Nascar in SVGA mode or is there some
way of fooling it to run in this mode?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, that means you also don't have the SVGA code on your disk...

Right, because installing it from floppy would have been a bear.  The SVGA
data files are bigger than the VGA ones.

You don't need the CD to run it, just to install it.

You need the CD-ROM version of the game to get the SVGA graphics. (CD has
both VGA and SVGA graphics on it. Floppy version has only VGA.)
The CD is NOT needed at run-time, provided you do a hard-drive install.

There is no way to get the SVGA graphics if you only have the floppy version.
