NASCAR2, Win95, Setup Locks Up

Hello...

I am having a strange problem with NASCAR2 which is not described in
Sierra's technical documents.  I am attempting to run NASCAR2 from Windows
95 in DOS mode.  The intro works fine, have video and sound.  The game then
works ok but I have no sound.  So, I attempt to use the Sound Setup Utility
in DOS.  It freezes up my computer everytime, before I can test or
autodetect or anything.  As soon as I start setup, the computer freezes.
I see the options screen but it is only in varying shades of green, 16
colors or less and then I have to reboot my system.

I have no problem with other DOS games.  I can play wav files and my AWE32
card tests fine from the Creative test utilities.  Anyone have any clues as
to what may be causing this?  I would like to set a basic sound card
configuration but can not even get into the setup program.

Does anyone have a sound.cfg file they could send me who has an AWE32 set
to IRQ 5 DMA 1 HI 5?  Perhaps I could use this?  I have no clue as I am
only loading the basic drivers and programs necessary to execute NASCAR as
outlined in their technical document.

Thanks so much for any help!

Joel

Are you in a windows 95 dos box or are you going to shut down computer
and restart in dos mode, you will need to do the shut down in order
to get a more stable game

I'm having a simular problem. Make sure your running in DOS mode (shut down
Win95 and restart in DOS mode). I have an IBM Aptiva M70 upgraded to Win95
and I can't get the sound working. Every other game/application I have
works fine. Every time I select Sound Blaster 8 I get the same problem as
you. I'd appreciate any help.
