: I just got Nasar2 a few days ago, because I needed mor RAM first. I now
: have 24meg of RAM, but whats the deal with Windows 95 installation. It
: is so slow and choppy even with all of the graphics turned off that I
: cant drive. Bummer!!!!
: Am I to understand that in order to race online I must use TEN? TEN only
: runs under Win95 and if I gotta do that then I cant even think of tryin'
: to race anybody. Under DOS the game runs fine just like the old game
: did, with just a few graphics turned off. Am I gonna have to go out and
: buy something more in order to run online? Bummer!!
: What can anybody tell me about getting the Win95 ver. to run better? Am
: I missing something? What is UNIVBE? Help!? Bummer!!
Make absolutely sure you have no unnecessary programs running in the
background. Even if they are minimized they are taking up memory and
CPU ticks. Check under Control Panel -> System Properties ->
Performance and ensure that everything is running optimized (32-bit).
What is your free System Resources percentage?
Other than upgrading to a faster machine, you might want to look into
getting a Verite based Rendition Video 3-D accelerator card. This is
the one thing you can get to speed up N2 (short of a system upgrade).
As a last resort, you may need to run in "low-res".
