Who still likes NFS SE???

Just wondering if I'm crazy or if anyone else out there actually shares my
opinion??? After seeing every version of NFS as well as the SE versions, I
still think that NFS SE the original is the best in the series! Something
about the car sounds and the driving physics that just felt different but
better.
If they could only update the cars to include newer cars, it'd still be the
greatest game.
What do you all think?

Yes I still love NFS-SE and drive it regularly after all these years.

Bought NFS2 and returned it, haven't bothered buying NFS2-SE or NFS3,
I like stage courses not oval circuits, and realistic physics, and traffic
and cops.

NFS-SE is/was a masterpiece too bad the morons at EA don't just do a 3dfx
version of NFS1 with new tracks, I would be the first one in line to buy
it, instead they***up the things that made NFS1 great and concentrate
on eye candy and cheap arcade gimmicks.

Their loss.

My thoughts exactly. I'm well prepared to pay the cost of NFS3, for a 3dfx
(and a few other little things) patch for NFS1. Is anyone at EA listening??

I like NFS SE the best out of all other version (NFS II/SE and NFS III).

Too bad they don't have 3dfx patch for NFS SE.  I bought NFS II think that
it is just as good but.......  I am not going to buy NFS III. No way.

I agree, it is by far the best of the NFS series.

I couldn't agree more.  I would be perfectly happy with NFSSE with some new
tracks and maybe a couple of new cars.  I don't know if Road&Track had anything
to do with making the first version so good, but they're not even coming close
to anything that good,  3D or not.

It's the only one I've played extensively and I think it's great. I
love taking the Supra for a blat along the coastal track. It gives me
the same sort of buzz that driving my MX5 along a good road does.

That reminds me, now I've got a PC at home, I wonder where my NFS SE
disk is...

The sequels aren't always better, for all their prettiness. For
example, Wipeout is still my favourite Playstation racing game
(preferred to Gran Turismo, Wipeout XL and NFS3 even).

Yes! I want to drive the RX-7 again. Somebody make an RX-7 for NFS 3,
the car editor is out.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people share your opinion!  I
don't think I've spent as much time on any other driving game or
simulator (maybe Stunts, and Grand Prix Legends in a week!) than
NFS1/NFS SE.
Nothing quite matches the feeling of sliding the 911 around
the corners of Alpine stage 2...

Great !

I fully agree with you. And I was afraid to be alone of my mind.
This sim is not at all outdated, and much more realistic than the II.

I still am a fan of NFS 1, much less of NFS II, too much "arcady" for my
taste. And I do not plan to buy NFS III.

And the 911 oversteering handling is "as is" in the true car:

Let me add something: the other sim soft which provides the driver with true
driving excitation, is, IMHO, the first version of Europress RAC Rally.

Old goodies ? But suited for driving fans, no arcade tricks. IMHO one more
time.

I agree, NFS SE is the best, never bothered with the other
NFS II, III sequels crap.

NFS2 was a sad sequel, but NFS3 is a different story. You really should
check it out.
