How do I take apart the pedals for my MSFF?

I took all the screws out, including the one under the
sticker, as suggested in a previous post.  But the thing
just won't come apart.

Please help, the squeeky pedal is REALLY annoying me and I
can't concentrate while racing.  Can't turn volume up too
loud or neighbours might get annoyed.

TIA

Scott if you have all the screws out it just splits apart. I am at work
right now but when I get home I can count the number of screws for you so
that you know you have them all out. If I remeber right there are a lot of
them and some can't be seen too clearly. Just send me and email, my real
email address can be found on my website by clicking on the little mail box
and I will send you the count.

Yeah I know what you mean Jeff.  There are two I overlooked the first time I
tried to take mine apart.  They were nestled in the middle of the cover right
around the axis for the pedals (The round recessed area).  I think there are
around 12 screws total.

Mine did to for awhile, but it soon came back.

When you do get them apart, it probably wont be obvious
what's causing the squeak, it took me awhile to work it out.

Where the springs coil around on themselves they rub
against eachother, they only seem to do it when the
pedals are fully assembled and not when you've got the spring in your hand.

To fix just get a flat screwdriver and push it between the coils
to prise them apart just enough so as they don't rub,
(be careful not to slip and stab yourself in the hand like I did)

Tell you what I did...
The squeaking drove me nuts too; didn't want to take the pedals apart,
so just poured some oil in it. (yes, I'm kinda impulsive)
Squeak disappeared, still waiting for a negative effect (after 2
months). throttle works just as fine as it did before the squeak, but
it might not be the recommended way to do it though  :p

Modifieng pedals is a dangerous job Mark. I don't think you would
survive the LWFF ball bearings modification :)

Once you've got all the screws out, the unit should come apart fairly
easily.  I now it sounds like a stupid question, but are you certain
you took out all the screws?  A couple of the screws are buried quite
deep in the holes on the pedal base.

Having got my pedal unit apart, I found a few squirts of WD-40 (light
lubricating oil) on the springs and spring housings etc. did the job
nicely.  After many, many, many hours of use I've not had a single
squeak!
