hm?  where you driving the short circut?

guess not.  300 on the short circuit sounds a bit too fast. :)
have they paved the run-off area in the northern turn?  when did they
do that?

Gunnar, who hasn't been to Anderstorp since 1999.

hey.  is that "Supercar Experience" the driving school I've been
hearing about?

a friend of mine read something about an "affordable" driving school
somewhere in England, featuring these cars.  supposedly, the
instructors were very set on "breaking you down to build you up".

Is that 500hp before or after your head blocked 75% of the air intake? :-)

Yes, because of the noise from the F1, Johan R. is only allowed to have
drive-school on the southern arrea, and the length is about 3/4 of the full
length.

But it is true. Johan told after we all finished, that his own record is 334
km/t on the short curciut with Morbidelli's 96' and Barichello's 98' engine
in it. (It is this car and this gearing on the Data-pic).
I was not the only one to reach rev-limit in 6th gear, so I'm not a hero or
anything. You came out to the straight with about 6500 rpm in 3th gear, and
4th, 5th droped to about 7500 rpm when shifting, and from 5th to 6th it
droped to about 7800 - 8000 (a little hard to see in this speed), and the
limiter was set to 9600 rpm.

As you might live in Norwegen (your email-adress ends with .no), all I can
say is, try this Formula 1 for yourself, and you can also do it.

If you look at the picture k?rsel.jpg (k?rsel is driving in danish) you will
se, that when I was completely down in the seat, I did not cover the air
intake
that much!

After this I got the game STCC2 as I was told that Anderstorp was in this
game. And it is, and is looking almost right. Some of the turns is not quite
the same, as they are more steep (is this the right word?) in real that in
the game.

Someone told me, that there is Formula 1 cars in this game, but they are
hidden (??) Does any one know if this is true, and if it is, how do I enable
these F1 cars?

The are called "Formula Dice". Win either the STCC or the SSC championship
(which shouldn't be hard for an ex-F1 driver ;-)) to enable them in time
trial mode. Mind you, you'll be sorely dissapointed when you actually get to
drive one of them, IMO.

So more camber on the real track, eh? -Interesting.

Yes, because of the noise from the F1, Johan R. is only allowed to have
drive-school on the southern arrea, and the length is about 3/4 of the full
length, but I have a feeling, that you know this already :o)

I was not the only one to reach rev-limit in 6th gear, so I'm not a hero or

droped to about 7800 - 8000 (a little hard to see in this speed), and the
limiter was set to 9600 rpm.
As there is no instrument (I don't know the word in English) to show you
the speed directly, I will have to beleave the "teacher" when he says, that
with this gearing you are going 300 km/t at a little less than 9400 rpm, I
must
assume that when the rev-limiter is being hit at 9600 rpm (it is very easy
to
hear this) his word max-speed at 307 km/t is correct. This is becaurse this
car
has a lower gearing than the car on the data.jpg pic. Faster acc., but
"only" just
about 307 km/t at the top.
Of course, if he was lying, and I was "only" going 270-280 km/t I would not
know the difference.
As I had a loaded Camaro, I do know the feeling of driving 210-220 km/t
though, and this F1 was faster. The acc was MUCH faster than a loaded
Camaro.

As you might live in Norwegen (your email-adress ends with .no), all I can
say is, try this Formula 1 for yourself, and you can also do it.

When you was at Anderstorp. what did you drive?

We was not told the price, but was told, that he lay a bet on M. Schumachers
Ferrari from 1998, but it was WAY to expencive. After that he bet on this
Jordan, and it was much cheaper, he said. But no actual price at all.

Interesting read... very clear, actually. You paint good mental images.

Can I ask you to clear up a couple of things while the experience is still
fresh in your mind?

For reference... what was the total travel in the throttle pedal? -In other
words: how many percent of full throttle was "5mm"?

That is a strange sentiment/instruction (I saw a similar thing when the guy
on Ushuaia tried an F3000). Was there any further explanation as to why?
Wouldn't the dangers of snap oversteer no be increased by driving too low a
ratio through some turns? Did you get wheelspin off corners?

In view of driving the rest of the laps at speed would you, looking back on
it, say that if you had trusted the car's stopping power you could have made
the turn or was it truly a case of "too little too late"?

Having your experience to draw on, what do you think it would be like to
drive that car if it had 850hp and reached 18,000 rpm, like the cars MS and
DC will be racing this weekend?
