I had a ping of 83 and a quality of 100. I'm on Comcast cable in Southern
NJ.

Most likely you got disco'd because of Comcast.  I'm in Ann Arbor, and
the service there just freaking disappears every once in a while.  Just
curious, were you on Mediaone or AT&T before you got Comcrapped?

Hehe...

Who was the other driver?  I wonder what's going on here... :(

BTW, did you guys decide on the track(s) to run Sunday yet?  I've only turned
laps at a couple - I'd hate to***up the racing for everyone else because I
couldn't keep the thing between the walls...

If you have any more problems, let me know.  There are maybe 3 or 4 drivers who
connect in GPL, and also have problems.  Everyone else has a GREAT connection.
Maybe there's some common element among the few that DO have problems...

I don't know who he was. He wasn't from r.a.s. I'm sure.

Daytona is one. We should figure out what the second one will be right away
so we know what to practice.

I was also wondering about the damage setting. Would moderate damage be a
good idea? Since this is a sort of 'special' event, it would be a shame if
some drivers were eliminated (especially early on) in a wreck through no
fault of their own. Also, if a number of cars get body damage, is the frame
rate slow down effect going to kick in and ruin the race? A moderate damage
setting might eliminate both problems but still force people to drive
realistically.

Do we even consider adding AI cars if the turn out isn't high enough? Just a
thought.

Are you guys planning on passwording this race, or is it open to
everyone?

Cool.  Glad I found out, I would have been looking for a race that
wasn't there.  Or was that in the Master Gameplan?  :-P

Very true.  The irony just got me was all.  Here I've raced even with
people in Great Britan for chrissakes with no problem, but just down the
block-nada.  Cracked me up.  :-)

I'm sure it was related to Comcast in one form or another, although my
connection to the net itself didn't drop.  I could still ping the other
races & BearShare was still faithfully d/ling away.  I guess one of
their routers along the path between me & Eldred's machine must have

You wish, pal.  :-)

Yeah buddy.  I was playing hell not to wash up into you.  That's how you
stayed with me in the turns.  The low line like that is *** tire
temps/wear too.  The amount of fun was incredible though.  I was
wondering when/how it was gonna end. <g>

I don't know what happened, but I bet you were behind it.  :-P

It's for everyone here at r.a.s.

It'll have a password and I'd assume be posted here before the race (maybe
day before?). It's Eldred's server so he'll have to decide what it is and
when it's posted.

I'd like to say I'm proud to have taken out 2 of the 4 other drivers
in warp-crashes and I will be continuing to drive the #20 on Sunday in
order to feel properly inspired to take out as many people as
possible.

Also, I'd like to put in my vote for Daytona/Pocono and fast setups if
we go fixed.  I realized the other night I had never driven an easy
setup before and I kept steering the car into the wall exiting the
turns because I kept wanting to countersteer. =)
