Will I notice any improvement on a AMD 1.2 and a GE Force 2 card ?
I run GPL and N4 just about exclusively.

NO!
Unless you are not rendering the Final Fantasy sequel!

N4 maybe...although nothing huge...but gpl should see zero
improvement...except in replay size...you have a very capable gpl system I
would think.

I believe that if you are running Win98 you will not see any
difference. Win 98 only recognizes and makes use of up to 256MB of
Ram.  Increasing your video card from 32mb to 64mb card will be the
most help.  N4 has a very high graphics requirement.  I have a 32mb
GF2 GTS and am even considering going with the new 64MB Geforce2 MX
card to get a bit more of an edge.

My specs:
AMD 1.1 Ghz T'Bird
FIC AZ11E MB
nVidia 32MB Geforce 2 GTS
Wingman Formula Force GP

Untrue.

Win98 does have an issue above 512MB but there's a workaround.

For most users, there's little performance to be gained from a 256->512 MB
upgrade unless you work with large graphics files or apps that grab a lot of
RAM (I do...).  I've never seen a game/sim that wasn't running fine on a
128MB machine.  256 is nice if you have a lot of background ***running but
I think most of us shut that stuff off anyway to get more CPU cycles for the
sim.

512 MB on my W2K machine is a beautiful thing... I hardly ever have swapfile
access because most work is done in RAM.

So...what's the workaround?

In system.ini under the Vcache heading add:

MaxFileCache=xxxx  (anything in kilobytes that is equal to 512mb or
less)

Somehow I don't think you should switch a GTS for an MX!!

If Windows 95 can recognize up to 2GIG of RAM.
Why won't 98?

MS confirms this at Article ID: Q181594

"Although Windows 95 has the ability to address up to 4GB of
virtual memory, it can access and use only 2GB or less of physical RAM. "

: So...what's the workaround?

Crap... sorry... that's what happens when I read r.a.s from work and the
phone rings forgot to include a link.

Here's the link to Microsoft's KB article on this issue.

No, he means or less.  Cache must not be bigger that 512mb
