Nascar and Indy question

by Scott Fras » Mon, 28 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Hello all,
Got a question i am hoping that someone out there can answer.
IS there any way to get better graphics in both of the games? I have
a DX2/80, 16 M of Ram, an ATI MACH64 2M of VRAM, and a bunch of other
goodies in this system. I am happy with the graphics, but would love to
get more detail out of the games. It would be nice if I could get the
quailty that is showen on the boxes. Hell I even got a 17" montier.
  Any suggestions?

For IndyCar, go to the settings menu (I forget which one it is from the main
menu; read the manual) and switch to manual detail and turn on all the details.
That's as good as it gets for IndyCar.  For NASCAR, you have to have the CD
version to get the highest resolution, and I assume that there is a similar
option for the graphics detail there.

Indycar currently only has one resolution.

NASCAR has two.  If you run "NASCAR -h", it will run in 640X480 VGA mode.

Your out of luck for Indycar until the version 2.0 comes out this
fall/winter.  However when you load Nascar, are you typing Nascar -h  ??
The -h will load the svga graphics for the game.  I'd like to hear how
well your system runs the svga graphics, the video card sound good, but I
wonder if your cpu has enough muscle to push full detail..  let us know!

Get a Pentium 133Mhz!!
The Mach64 supports the DirectDraw Driver which is gonna be used in
the upcoming indy2 and nascar for win95 which should improve the
overall quality of the game.
