Daytona and the Jasper setup

Ok, I am qualifying in the high 47.2xx's and low 47.3's. That puts me right
at the front usually. Using the jasper setup, there is NO way you can run
with the top 4 or 5. Furthermore, it pushes so bad, you'll do good if you
can hold a line well enough let faster cars by without hitting the wall in
the turns once the pack gets up to speed. This has to be the practical joke
of the century.

The jasper setup guide contains a disclaimer saying these were only setups
that real winston cup teams might PLAUSIBLY run.

This begs the following question: who, except perhaps K Petty, would even
entertain the foolish notion of  running something this bad at the biggest
race of the year?

Notice we go about 10mph faster in the draft in N2003 than the cars do in
reality.  Plus the Jasper setup IS detuned a little so that other Cup teams
can't steal Jasper Motorsports' ideas.  Both those put together equal a ***
setup for us.  ;)

You know, I totally agree with you on every aspect of this setup.

Oddly though, there are some that actually LIKE this setup.  I honestly
don't get it :)

Well you don't have to worry about me trying to pass you if you are running
the Jasper setup. I'll just wait for you to start running up the track and
try to dodge all the chaos you create....
:)

No worries, I don't use it.  You are free to ass-end me like everyone else
online does :)

Daytona and the Jasper setup

I said it wasn't bad when you're out alone on the track (with some of that
tape off to stop the engine from overheating, of course). I also said it's
pointless to try to find a way to drive or modify an existing setup to run
in the draft in the demo as the physics of that were to be changed in the
release version.

If all goes well I will receive said release version in the next couple days
and maybe I will change my mind on the subject, but if the aero push is
reduced somewhat I don't think I'll be making big adjustments to those
Jasper setups.

Then again, I'm not looking for a setup that will allow me to run 10mph
faster than the real WC drivers. I don't "need" a 45 second (or whatever)
lap.

I find that the following happens to me regardless of setup.  If you
don't hug the bottom you get pushed up outside and everyone goes by.
If you do hug the bottom the RF overheats and the aero push becomes
unmanageable.

1.  Suggestions?

2.  Does the outside line ever work in N2003 at Daytona?

Get yer wrenches out :)

In the pack, the Jasper setup is miserable (though they did fix the tape) in
the final release.

If aero push was decreased, I sure don't see it.

Go to 800/900 on the front springs, then get the tire temps close, then get
the weight right, then fix the temps again.

Wash, rinse, repeat :)
