TM Charger Xp drivers???

by V \ » Sat, 21 Aug 2004 12:48:42

Okay, so I wanna set up the old TM Nascar charger wheel/pedals onto my GF's
PC to play against each other. Go to TM site.NO XP DRIVERS ?!?!   Damn !!
Will Win2K drivers work with the wheel?? It won't configure with the Win
generic TM with or w/o adapter choices.  Can anyone direct me to a fix so we
can race each other?? Much appreciated.

           Thanks all...............V

You could try setting it up a generic 2 axis 2 button joystick. Maybe a
three axis if the pedals are seperated.

My luck. This MoBo has onboard sound  and NO gameport. I can't set the wheel
up as anything as the "gameport is not configured". I bought an adapter for
the wheel. Plugs the gameport pins into a USB connector. It is seen as an
unknown USB device. I can go no further. I cannot justify buying a new wheel
for the "spare" system, so I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get this one to
work if at all possible Damn well sucks. The install disk that came with it
is W95/W98 era..........EGADS !!!                 Thanks for the suggestion
though.

I just tried the W2K drivers. It tries to do the wheel through the game
port. How can I get XP to recognize the wheel through USB?? Remember.it's a
game port cable with a USB adapter. Not possible to recognize it??

The game port to USB adaptor should have a selector switch on it. On the
Rockfire's it should be set to position 3. The radio shack adaptor should be
set to wheel (position 4) Windows XP should recognize the the adaptor
automatically as a 4 axis, 4 button joystick. Possibly your adaptor is
faulty or your windows install does not have all the usb info it should. You
should not need any drivers for the wheel itself.

I am guessing all my USB info is installed. It recognizes my Saitek joystick
(USB) easily. The adapter I have has no switches whatsoever. Just a simple
plug to plug. It sees the new hardware but no recognition. IT shows as
functioning properly in my device manager as an unknown device.  hmmm,
sometimes these things can be so fickle.
