TM Pro Digital wheel in XP problem

by George Lewi » Sat, 23 Feb 2002 13:07:19

In WinXP, I can use a 3 axis wheel controller no problem, so I know
the wheel is working ok.  I installed Thrustmaster's 5.2 update,
rebooted, and changed the human interface device to the Thrustmaster
driver.

When I go into the properties, the wheel "icon" goes over to one side
and there is no movement when I turn the wheel.  The pedals work fine
though.

If I uninstall and put the XP generic drivers on it again, everything
is ok.

Has anyone else had this problem?  What can I do to fix it?  Nothing
about it in the FAQ at thrustmaster's website.

Thanks.

Can't help you, actually.  I have a NPD2 and I know I had a hell of a time
with TM's initial driver release for XP, which had a bug and took TM (or
whomever, these days) months to patch.  I have dual axes now and don't even
load the TM software any longer (I think it's version 3.09).  Their drivers
are pretty poor and their support is even worse, goin' downhill, like a
fanatical youth running a steep hill at the Soap Box Derby.  My next wheel
will not be anything related to TM and its takeovership.

Sorry I couldn't help.  You might want to browse the boards over there at TM
or post up your problem.

Ive never had any luck with Thrustmaster's drivers. Ran the Pro Digitals
using the HID 3 axis, 8 button joystick for a couple few years now and used
their software to host a skeet shoot :)
