I can't figure out how to get this game to recognize my LWFF USB.  It seems
to only look to the keyboard or gameport.  Pretty disappointed if it doesn't
work bc I want the FF instead of just using my TSW2.  Any ideas?

It works with my Force RS, but only just.  When you select controls
from the main menu, it should show keyboard as the default option and
then a wheel on the first joystick and probably nothing on the second.
Select your FF wheel, but then escape.  DO NOT TRY to configure the
wheel further.  At least in my experience, this freezes the game to
require a reboot.  Also, the game is freeze prone when using the
interface in general, but in the game its fine.

FF in the game is pretty bad, because when you get an understeer it
jerks the wheel into the turn.  Steering should go LIGHT when you
understeer, not jerk the wheel!

Cheers,

Randy

I haven't had any problems with configuring the wheel.  It's also reported that
the patch (available at eidos interactive) fixes a couple of problems with
configuration lockups but only from within the garage.

Randy, I know you stated that you had problems with the wheel in your review.
The understeer problem is a bug, but it's a tricky bug.  As you're describing,
the wheel does go light and jerk the wheel.  I originally thought this was due to
the car losing grip, but that's not the case.  It is indeed a bug.  To fix it, go
into your wingman controller setup and change your force feedback settings to
99%.  The jerking will be gone and  so will the lightness of the when when you
understeer.  Iif they could get rid of the jerking but keep the lightness of the
wheel when losing grip, that would be great.

I'm still not the most accomplished driver in this game, but it's taught me quite
a bit about F1 cars and has generated some interest in the sport too.  I like
that it's a sim, but a light hearted sim.   I guess the same goes for Toca 2
too.  Both are good  games that are fun to play, capture the essence of the
sport, but don't weigh you down with excessive details.  Of course by this time
next year I'll be ready for something meatier.

Problem is gone.  Don't ask me how, I just tried again and the wheel was
recognized.  Going back to TSW2 for this game anyway bc FF is poor.  If FF
is over 100% any left turn causes a strong jerk left by the wheel.  Turning
the FF down stops the jerkiness but the effects are too weak and the wheel
resistence too light.  GPL has spoiled me on yet another level ;-).
