Does anybody have an idea why Rendition mode is so slow on a PII 300 using
Stealth II than running standard mode. It is so smooth in regular mode I
thought Rendition mode would just be better thanks Merle

Are you running the graphic options in "auto" vs. "on"?  If so, change
everything to "on" and you will notice a big improvement.

Hi merle.

  I have MMXPentium-200 (o/c to 263) and DiamondMM Stealth2 S220.
NASCAR2 runs perfectly smooth. (but, SODA is occurred a little bit slow
down when 5 or more AI cars are in my front view.)

I think you just use "Start"-"Programs"-"sierra"-"NASCAR Racing 2
Rendition Verite".  It is not correct one. That is not using Direct Memory
Access mode.

You should make batch file containing this.(Yes, Please change tp your own
Nascar2 installed directory.)

C:\SIERRA\NASCAR2\nasrend.exe -dma -4

"-dma" is to use Direct Memory Access mode.

"-4"  is to use to degrade 4bit(?) car texture or so. Fundamentally, you
don't
notice difference, other than smoothness.

Your Pentium2 might strong enough to use just "-dma" option.
