I race for about 5 minutes and the game always freezes, crashes, and returns
me to my desktop. I have a PIII 700 with 128 Mb Ram. My video card is a 32
MB NVIDIA TNT2 M64 with the latest drivers. I'm running DirectX 8. I've
tried setting the resolution to the lowest setting and turning graphic
options down, but I always get the same result. Somebody please help me for
the love of God!!

OK. Fixed it thanks to the following message at the Team Lightspeed Forums.

Turns out it was sound card related. I have a Turtle Beach Montego II A3d
sound card.

symbol for your sound card it will look like an A double click that, then
click the tab that says ad3 settings in there go in and disable direct sound
at the bottom make sure its checked off i have a tb sound card also and it
helped me.
