Are these "Black screen" crashes....?? I got that once in a while. Also
noticed that often there is a fairly long period of "black screen" when
switching sessions.
Could be the "borderline" system.
I thought I would be ok with mine
PIII 600
192 MB
ATI All-in wonder pro AGP 8MB
Soundblaster Live Value
Could run the game barely...
Replaced the Video with ATI's RADEON All-in Wonder 32MB (would have preferred
64MB but the AIW version doesn't come this way)
After playing around with the video config a bit the game seems to have
stabalized.....still there are those long black screens that sometimes make me
think that the game is crashing..
Before I made the expensive video card switch a Pappy tech told me (what I had
already read on the box but didn't want to believe) that 12MB video RAM was a
game minimum. I misatakenly thought that since I had an AGP card which could
access whole bunches of system memory that the video ram requirement wouldn't
apply.....the tech support guy informed me that this was not the case. Could
be that 16MB is a problem for you since you are also running pretty close to
the minimum on that P2 processor.
