CH Pedals with Joystick?

CH Pedals with Joystick?

by Terrance Xavi » Wed, 21 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I have a 2-button Joystick that has digital buttons. I want to add CH
Pedals so I can use them as analog gas/brake instead of the joystick
buttons. However, I still want to retain the joystick to steer the
car.

Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, how do I set this up in
GP2? Do I need some kind of adapter for both the pedals and the
joystick? I only have one joystick port by the way.

Thanks.

I've not tried this in GP2 (I'm probably the only person on this newsgroup
that hasn't bought it yet), but it works great with NASCAR and ICR2. I
started with the CH Pro Pedals and a joystick, then eventually bought a CH
VPP yoke to replace the joystick.

It works - I was able to set mine up in Nascar and ICR2 - didn't have
GP2 to test that, but I believe it would set up much like any other
system.

I have those pedals! Is this why my legs keep getting wet? Lot of
spitting can happen over the course of a 3-hour race!!! ;^)

No problem. The CH Pedals should come with their own adaptor. The cable
has 2 connectors, one for the games port and the other for your joystick
or yoke or whatever.

When setting this configuration up in GP2, go to the advanced control
setup screen and make sure you setup joysticks A and B as analog.
The pedals _must_ be set to joystick B.

Also set "control driven calibration" on this screen.  This will allow
you to calibrate for steering, throttle and brake instead of X and Y axes.

It's no problem. The CH pedals has a spitter built into it and GP2 will let
you use joy2 for gas/brake.
